Students begin to gather on the commons of Kent State University to protest the involvement of the United States in Vietnam and the National Guard on campus.  Jeffrey Miller is in the front row wearing a western shirt and a headband. He would be killed by a guardsman’s bullet a few minutes later.

Major Jones hangs on the side of a jeep as it drives past protestors on the Kent State University, May 4, 1970, as one of the guardsmen announces to the students that "…you must leave this area immediately…or we will disperse you."  Major Jones would later lead the group of guardsmen who opened fire on students, killing 4 and wounding 9.
