This is my downstairs
neighbor, who is also my landlord's son, Thomas Cobb Jr. I had a ten-minute
window of opportunity because of the light going and Thomas's antics. He
IS "Dennis the Menace!" I was shooting a big group of children in Harlem
on the next day for an advertising client for a national ad. One of the
early ideas was to photograph a single child, and I decided to shoot it
with his aunt's hands around his shoulders without help from assistants
or anything or anyone else. His mother was surprised by the image, but
it was
what I saw in Thomas. |
