Ramjann Bhoomi Nyas Samitt, who is president of the
Hindu fundamentalist organization that is spearheading the disputed
temple project in the northern Indian city of Ayodhya, sits inside
the workship where pieces of the temple were being carved in March
2002. Hundreds of Hindu fundamentalists blessed the pillars in a ritual
that ended peacefully despite fears it might trigger more Hindu-Muslim
religious clashes.
