Five men, mistaken for members of the al-Qaida-linked group Ansar al Islam, were shot dead at the Tasluga check point, 20 kilometers outside Sulaimani in Kurdistan, by members of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK). The men were actually members of The Islamic Group of Kurdistan.
