Labryrinth, Golden Door, Escondido, Ca.: Labryrinths go back 4,000 years. A famous one goes back to 1220 and can be found on the floor of the Chartes cathedral in France. They look like mazes, but don't lead to dead ends, but rather, to the center. Some say walking in the circles can alter consciousness. At the Golden Door, you can write down something you want to change about yourself or your life, go to the center, where you burn the note in a clay pot. As I walked around, I noticed how hard it was to stay within the borders. I saw it as a metaphor for my life, especially with its twists and turns, keeping in mind what it takes to get to a healthier place.
