Opium: Afghanistan
An Afghan farmer collects opium resin in Sorubi, an area within the Kabul Province. In early spring after collection, the farmer sells the opium, often wrapped in cauliflower leaves, directly to dealers, many of whom are Pakistanis. The price of opium extract is $270 U.S. per kilogram. 2004
