After casting her vote concerning an amendment to the education bill, Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-AK) runs off the Senate floor to keep an appointment. Practicing a bi-partisan style of governing, Lincoln works with her colleagues on such issues as taxes, the environment, education, health care, and agriculture. Lincoln has a rural background, being from a seven-generation Arkansas farm family. (May 2001)
