WHOSE CAR IS THAT? People were being creative in finding evacuation vehicles. A gang had gone on a looting rampage in stolen postal trucks. Others had commandeered school busses and driven people out of the city. I shot this photo downtown near the New Orleans Convention Center as anarchy was setting in. All around us were the sounds of breaking glass and car alarms as young men stole expensive sports cars and drove away packed with cheering evacuees. About that time this patrol car drove right through the crowd. Just behind me was a vandalized cop car. All four wheels were gone and the windows shattered. I suddenly realized that it might not have been cops driving this car.
