Chilton County, Alabama -- Diane Caver picks okra in the field behind her family's house. Having worked on a farm since she was a small girl, she continues to labor on a regular basis in the fields and is active in the local church. She says of her husband, "Jessie had the opportunity to be independant and enjoys the freedoms farming offers. He enjoys growing and selling his produce at the market." However, she notes, "The difficulties have always been in getting the monies to run the farm."
