SOUTH LEBANON: With a pause in the Israeli air campaign, thousands of southern Lebanon residents flee to the north, leaving behind war-torn villages throughout the south, Monday, July 31, 2006. Vehicles cue up for as long as an hour to cross the Litani River, where thousands of cars heading both north and south converge on a strip of sand a little more than one lane wide.
