DIER EL-BALAH, GAZA STRIP, July 19, 2006: Two dead bodies occupy the same drawer of the overcrowded morgue in Deir el-Balah in the Gaza Strip following an Israeli shelling of the town in retaliation for an attack on Israeli soldiers.
Following an attack on Israeli soldiers that had wounded five during their incursion into a refugee camp near the central Gaza Strip town of Deir el-Balah, IDF tanks fired shells into the area, killing at least seven Palestinians, including three civilians, and wounding over 50 others. In the aftermath of the attack, the small emergency room at the Al Aqsa Martyr's Hospital became swamped, with doctors quickly transforming the lobby into a triage center in an attempt to stabilize patients enough to survive the trip to the main hospital in Gaza City.///Two dead bodies occupy the same drawer of the overcrowded morgue in Deir el-Balah.
