Family nurse practitioner Bethany "Beth" McClean asks 6-year-old Isaiah Coleman to stick out his tongue during a routine examination. The Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District partnered with JPS Health Network to renovate a portable classroom into a child health-care facility to provide needed affordable services to its medically underserved population. The Child Health Care Center opened in mid-August and provides such services as immunizations, physicals, treatment of illness, monitoring of chronic illness and lab work. Visits are $5 each for children in the district. Sept. 12, 2006.
