Latafiya, Iraq, May 19, 2007 [Bravo Co. 2-15, Task Force 2-15, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division] – A resupply chopper arrives with food and water at midday after American troops have walked for hours in 100-plus degree heat in search of three U.S. soldiers captured several days earlier. While on patrol, an explosion killed one soldier and wounded four others. Later the same day, an American medic was shot in the forehead and critically injured by an Iraqi sniper at another location as the search continued.
