Goat meat that has been butchered according to the dictates of "Sharia" or Muslim law--and hence the certification "halal"--is sold at a roadside stand outside Williamstown in Trinidad's central island "Sugar Belt." Smaller than the U.S. state of Delaware or the Islamic sultanate of Brunei, Trinidad boasts the Western Hemisphere's highest concentration of mosques, more than 100 at last count.
