Saeed Khan, age 40 and HIV positive, enters the family dining room where his wives, ages 32 and 16, both with HIV, wait in their village home on Feb. 28, 2006 in Badaber in the conservative Pashtun belt of western Pakistan. Saeed contracted HIV while working as a laborer in the Middle East during the 1990s, from where he was deported back to Pakistan. Ignorant about the methods of transmission, he gave it to both his wives.
