RealAudio: "Fire on the Set"

During the long schedule of the 'Shining' we had a dramatic fire that destroyed 3 sound stages at Elstree Studios. The stages contained the vast sets of the Overlook Hotel lounge and lobby. No one was injured in the fire although we were shooting in the lobby set at that moment. This photograph was taken the next morning when the film's director, Stanley Kubrick, was surveying the wreckage.
