In the mountains of Binh Dinh
province, troopers of the 1st Cavalry Division help one of their people
back to the battalion headquarters after he was wounded in battle. This
area near the town of Bong Son was the scene of nearly constant, vicious
fighting in early 1966. The battalion was commanded by Lt. Col. "Shy" Meyer
who later in his career served as the Army's Chief of Staff.
