UNIVERSITY
OF KENTUCKY, LEXINGTON, 1968
There
are paths in the photographic life and this photograph represents
one not taken. It is of the American social landscape, a subject
worth a lifetimes attention. I was attentive to it intermittently,
as here at the University of Kentucky in 1968 and on several
other occassions. Despite not taking this path, these photographs,
and others like them, have persisted.
