Linda McCartney was a fellow photographer friend I met at a photo lab in New York City in 1966. When she later married Paul, they would call me when they needed photos of the two of them together. On one occasion they needed pictures for their "Ram" album songbook. I met them in Malibu and spent the day around the swimming pool. The final portrait was done at magic hour, after which they said they needed to see everything the next morning for a possible Life magazine cover. I hustled around and got everything processed in time. They chose this one and handed it to the waiting lady from Life, who drove to LAX and hard-carried it to New York City. It became my accidental Life magazine cover.
