I knew the publicity director for the Circus Vargas, a traveling big top. Whenever they played the San Fernando Valley I could count on an all-access pass to photograph behind-the-scenes. I loved standing outside the stage entrance as the animals lined up in anticipation. This lady is trying to calm the elephant, who hears the music and is impatient to get on with the show.
