Presidential Election in Mauritania -- Supporters rally in Atar for Mauritania's longtime opposition leader Ahmed Ould Daddah. He was imprisoned many times under the regime of dictator Maaouya Ould Sid'Ahmed Taya. Although he ultimately lost the country's first authentically democratic election in March 2007, he remains the official opposition leader.
