By August 4, with Israeli artillery shells raining down on the hillside villages around Bint Jebail, ambulances defied the blanket travel-ban to bring the wounded to a frontline hospital perhaps three kilometers from the border. Most of the wounded were young men, presumably Hezbollah fighters. At first, the hospital orderlies tried to prevent the faces of the wounded from being photographed, but after a time they didn't care anymore.
