A U.S. Army nurse takes the fading pulse of a dying American soldier at the 28th Combat Support Hospital in Baghdad, Iraq, Sept. 22, 2007. The soldier was fatally wounded by a roadside bomb while on patrol in Baghdad. The hospital, located in Baghdad's Green Zone, receives many of the nearly 30,000 U.S. soldiers wounded in Iraq. More than 4,000 soldiers have died in the war.
