This photo of Stanley
Kubrick during a snow test on 'The Shining' was taken in the maze set where
Jack Nicholson chases Danny around at the end of the movie. After extensive
tests the most realistic snow-like material to cover the maze was found
to be ‘urea formaldahyde’ a highly toxic chemical. Only a small amount
of shooting could done without the camera crew and actors coming out for
fresh air leaving a crew to clear up the foot prints.
