Volunteer
shoppers are available for blind people to assist them in getting things
like groceries, clothes or shoes. A part of Gail's job at Services for
the Visually Impaired is to help find volunteer readers and shoppers
for blind people in the Washington DC area.
Ellen would usually
help my mother with shopping, but now that we're both grown up, we're
not able to help out as frequently as we used to. But Gail was able
to get some assistance from Anita Cowen when it came time for some
new dress shoes.
