On the streets of lower Dharamsala, Tibetan monks and Indian residents stand amid the few commercial shops. The upper town is known as McLeod Ganj, and it’s here amid the backdrop of the sheer rock face where most Tibetans live. At the heart of McLeod Ganj is the Tibetan temple, lined with huge prayer wheels spinning away. Within walking distance are the Dalai Lama’s residence, the Tibetan Government-in-Exile Offices.
