| I covered the
funeral of Father Judge the other day... and it was really touching
homily, and the whole mass was really moving, and watching those
guys, and knowing what they had gone through, what they were thinking,
and the friends they had lost. One of the firemen was trying so
hard at the end to hold back tears. He was trying so hard, and that
tears me apart, I was weeping, and I just wanted to go over and
hug him, and say it's OK, you can cry, these big macho guys, they
are not allowed to hurt, and that just sunk in... the monumental
loss of these folks is hard to endure. - Carol Guzy |
