Andrew Wyeth,
Benner Island, Maine, 1996 - At his summer retreat on an island
off the coast of Maine, the great American artist went out to sketch
by the water's edge. He carried his sketch pad the way a photographer
carries his camera - hoping to see something that will catch his
eye. He would stop and sketch a tree here, a river there, tearing
up sketches he didn't like. |
