Early on a Saturday morning in Haiti I saw a crowd of people. They were gathered around the body of a baby, which had been dumped by the side of the road. A pink cord was knotted around the child’s neck. This scene triggered something in me. It was the last image I made during a month in Haiti, May 2000.
