Novocherkassk, Russia. 1997 - A young soldier takes part in a ceremony marking Russia’s recognition of the Don Cossacks. From Petersburg to Vladivostok, these warriors are marching again. More than 400 Cossack groups have sprung up, some only enlisting a few dozen “sabers”, as Cossacks call themselves, and others attracting thousands.
