Hamed Shraim in Qalqilya. Hamed used to be a racing jockey in Israel. Qalqilya is a small agricultural town (40,000 pop.) on the border between Israel and the West Bank. Today the inhabitants are literally imprisoned behind this 8 meter high wall. There is only one entry and exit point which is controlled by the Israeli military. All inter-city commerce has come to a virtual standstill. According to the Palestinian NGO, PENGON, 4000 inhabitants have already left for the interior of the West Bank where they hope to be able to make a living.
