This photo is taken near the Palestinian hamlet of JUBARA, which is now cut off from the village of Ar Ras (on horizon) and the West Bank by the security fence. The road is used by the Israeli military and settlers. This snake-like security barrier runs several kilometers inside West Bank territory, resulting in a de facto annexation of approximately 2%, or 30,500 acres, of Palestinian farmlands. In addition to this illegal confiscation of land, the inhabitants of Jubara find themselves on the Israeli side of the security fence, they are isolated inside a kind of open-air prison since they do not have legal access to Israel. In order to go to school, the children of Jubara must wait for Israeli soldiers to unlock the security gate. The hamlet with it's 300 inhabitants will die a slow death of economic strangulation.
