Snow Lee of Marrero, La., stands outside her home with her son, daughter-in-law and grandson after returning to Jefferson Parish on September 5. The family returned to their homes west of New Orleans for the first time that morning after evacuating before the hurricane. The house only suffered some cosmetic damage, but because of looting and other lawlessness in the area, the family decided to pack up valuables and leave the area for an indefinite period of time.
