We had to live under canvas at 11,000 feet to shoot these scenes with the Gorillas and had no idea where the set would be the next day as the gorillas do not read ‘call sheets’. Trackers would leave the camp at dawn to find the gorilla groups that we were allowed to work with and only when they returned did anyone know whether it was going to be a 2 hour hike or 30 minutes.
