At the Republican National Convention in Dallas, Texas in August 1984, First Lady Nancy Reagan was speaking when the convention broke into cheers and applause. Startled, Mrs. Reagan at first didn't know what to make of the interruption, but when she turned around, there was "the Gipper" on the huge TV screen, watching her speech from his hotel suite and of course she waved to him.
