RealAudio: "She was so proud..."

The moment George Bush was sworn in as President of the United States on January 20, 1989 was as proud a moment for Barbara Bush as it was for the President. In a situation like this, position is everything, and I was the "pool" magazine photographer on the center stand. I brought the biggest lens I could carry, an 800mm lens, up the ladder and onto the stand. The optics of that lens brought the viewer closely into the loving gaze of Barbara Bush at this historic moment.
