Access to the Presidency |
Most of my "behind the scenes" work which has been published by Time has been of things not seen by the press. This photograph is an exception. An open photo in Independence Square, Accra, Ghana during the President's trip to Africa earlier this year. I was able to go up on stage with an official White House photographer for a quick moment to shoot the scene from behind. As jet-lagged as we were, this enormous cheering crowd made the President's first day in Africa one to remember.
