Yankee base runner Alex Rodriguez violates the rules of baseball, swatting loose the ball from Red Sox pitcher Bronson Arroyo in game six of the American League Championship Series as Red Sox first baseman Doug Mientkiewicz looks on. This play gave the Red Sox continued momentum towards coming back from an 0-3 deficit in the ALCS.

WEST: The picture means a lot to me, especially since it was never published. There were a dozen or so photographers in the first base well (near the Yankees dugout, right in front of the fans) and not many people were able to switch lenses (to a 70-200mm) in time to make the photo.

Yankee Stadium is a stressful place to shoot, the ALCS was wrought with tension and it was nice to capture a defining moment in the series as well as in Yankees - Red Sox lore. Up until I made the shot, I was riveted to everything going on in the game as well as in the stands.
