	In November, as the noon sun barely manages to skim the southern horizon for one last time before disappearing for two months, Carl Stalker and Rhoda Long walk together in Point Lay. Just a couple of weeks after this photo was taken, the couple met up with a polar bear very close to this same spot. Carl died in the attack, but Carl was credited with saving Rhoda and their unborn child when he fought the bear with a pocket knife.
