I had taken a lot of photographs of John Mitchell - in his office at the Justice Department, at a dinner party in his Watergate apartment, in the White House, at CRP headquarters, and now here, at the Watergate Hearings. Mitchell was well liked by his staff, and from the time I spent with him, I could understand why.  The Watergate Committee, however, was not running a personality contest, and despite his closeness to so many people, he was very much alone when grilled to relate his version of events.
